About wiping of free disk(s) space: As you just learn, deleting a file normally just removes a file's directory entry, but the data itself remains on the disk. This file is written TWICE to and expanded until the entire drive has been cleaned. Evidence Killer 2005 is designed to clean normally formatted disk drives. If you have configured your system to use disk compression do not use Evidence Killer 2005 to clean free space on your compressed drives. Evidence Killer 2005 will work with any drive, including Windows NT NTFS formatted drives. Evidence Killer will clean approximately 300 megabytes per minute.
